Decolonize your mind: The Autobiography of Malcom X Book Discussion

  • Factory Coffee 213 East Frank Street Kalamazoo, MI, 49007 United States (map)

Join us for a two-part Decolonize Your Mind Book Club centered on The Autobiography of Malcolm X, as told to Alex Haley — a foundational text on Black liberation, political awakening, and resistance to white supremacy and imperialism.

This book club is a space for collective study, reflection, and discussion on how systems of racism, colonialism, capitalism, and state violence shape our lives — and how liberation movements are born in response. Through Malcolm X’s life story, we will explore themes of political transformation, self-determination, internationalism, and the necessity of confronting injustice with clarity and courage.

Whether you’re reading Malcolm X for the first time or returning to the text with fresh eyes, this series invites participants to think critically, ask hard questions, and connect historical struggles to the present moment.

All are welcome. Hard copies and audiobooks available. Come ready to engage in meaningful dialogue as we work together to decolonize our minds and strengthen our collective commitment to justice.

  • Session 2: Chapters 13–End
