Join Kalamazoo Nonviolent Opponents of War for “Palestine in Context: Understanding Gaza, Zionism, and the Challenge to the Church,” featuring renowned author and activist Dr. Mark Braverman.

Dr. Braverman——a Jewish American deeply involved in the global church movement for Palestinian rights——draws on two decades of work with Christian communities to explore the urgent moral, political, and theological questions raised by Israel’s ongoing war on Gaza.

Rooted in his personal journey from traditional Judaism to a fierce critique of Zionism and Christian complicity in colonial violence, Braverman will unpack the historical and spiritual context of the Palestinian struggle—from Western imperialism and the birth of Christian Zionism to today’s rise of Christian nationalism in the United States.

At a time when U.S. churches face growing pressure to stay silent, Dr. Braverman argues that faith communities must reclaim their prophetic voice and take concrete action for justice in Palestine—and at home. Together, we’ll ask:

  • What responsibility do American churches bear in confronting colonialism and state violence?

  • How is Christian Zionism shaping both U.S. policy abroad and authoritarian movements at home?

  • What can people of conscience—Christian, Jewish, Muslim, and secular—do now to resist genocide and build solidarity rooted in faith and liberation?
